Camp Painless But Hopeful

About Us

Welcome to the Official Camp Painless But Hopeful Website! My name is Tara Blocker, I am the Founder and Camp Director of this awesome camp! I hope you enjoy your tour of our website.

Camp Painless But Hopeful is a camp designated for families who live with Congenital Insensitivity to Pain. Congenital Insensitivity to Pain is a rare, dangerous genetic condition where a person is unable to feel pain and recognize necessary pain signals to alert them that something may be wrong. My daughter Ashlyn has the condition. She had a dream one night that we started a camp for families like us and I knew instantly what I was meant to do. After a lot of hard work and research, my daughter's dream came true. We founded Camp Painless But Hopeful. Camp Painless But Hopeful is a family oriented camp so the whole family participates. We want to bring parents, siblings and the ones who cannot feel pain all together to let them know that they are not alone in their painless journey through life.  In November 2011, we held our first camp. We united 8 families from all over the US and Canada. It was a life changing experience and priceless memories were made. Our goal is to have camp every year so our families can grow up together and have something to look forward to.

If you or a family member has Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and would like to attend camp, please fill out the contact form. We are so thankful to everyone that understands the importance and shows their support for Camp Painless But Hopeful.

We look for our camp to grow in the coming years, by starting this website we would like to raise awareness of Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and most importantly, unite families living with this condition.

We are in need of camp sponsors. If you are looking for a place to make donations for tax purposes, we are grateful that Camp Twin Lakes is now accepting donations on behalf of Camp Painless But Hopeful. Donations will be earmarked for our camp. Our camp provides an amazing, life-changing experience for families who live with the challenging condition of Congenital Insensitivity to Pain.
